Last week, I won the Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Tournament at the Borgata Winter Open. There were 390 entrants and I finished first, winning $30,927 and a TAG Heuer Watch with an inscription that reads "Borgata Winter Poker Open 2007." (My own version of a WSOP bracelet!) The tournament lasted about 15 hours and it was a huge thrill to finish first.
I attended Boot Camp one year ago, and the course was truly a turning point for me in my poker life. The information I learned about betting strategies, pot odds, and most of all discipline and patience, have been invaluable. The instructors Clonie Gowen, Cripsin Leyser and Mark Seif were amazing.
Since the course, I finished in the money in one other Ladies Event at the Foxwoods Poker Classic and I have had several successes in on-line tournaments.
