Jared Tendler

Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC, is the leading expert in the mental game of poker. He is the author of the groundbreaking book, The Mental Game of Poker:  Proven Strategies for Improving Tilt Control, Confidence, Motivation, Coping with Variance, and More.

He has also coached more than 200 players, including some of poker’s top players:  Dusty “Leatherass” Schmidt; Niman “Samoleus” Kenkre; Ben “NeverScaredB” Wilinofsky, Winner of EPT Berlin; and WSOP bracelet winner Max Steinberg.

Jared has also worked with thousands of players through online training videos and forums.  He brings a unique combination of skills to the table:  a Master’s degree in psychology, expertise as a licensed mental health counselor, and more than six years of experience as a performance coach.

Jared is excited about helping poker players players recognize their mistakes and improve.  “There are a lot of players…who want to believe they are better tactically and mentally then they actually are,” he notes.  “That’s kind of the definition of weak players. That’s why real professionals love to play against weak players.” 

Jared hosts the popular radio show, “The Mental Game” and he has been featured in WTP Magazine, where he writes monthly instructional articles.  He also wrote five chapters of Dusty Schmidt’s acclaimed work, Treat your Poker Like a Business.

Besides being a master at the mental game of poker, Jared is also a skilled golfer and golfing performance coach.  A 3-time collegiate All-American golfer, he is the winner of nine collegiate golf tournaments and a member of Skidmore College Hall of Fame, 2010. His client list includes an LPGA tour winner, players on the PGA and Nationwide Tours, and many top-ranked juniors.
