My brother (Dale Townsend) and I attended the boot camp in Dallas a few weeks ago. The results have been very good. There has been a big tournament going on at The Winstar World Casino which is the closest casino to us. They have been having satellites into the main event. I had already won a ticket for me to play, but decided to play in another mega satellite to get even more experience after attending the Boot Camp.
To win a ticket to the main event, you had to place in the top 20% in the mega satellites. There were 270 players in the first satellite and 480 in the second one and I finished 23rd in both. Since I had two tickets, my brother bought one from me and came back in to play in the tournament. The main event was this week. Unfortunately I was knocked out on my first day, but my brother made it through to day two.
We went back on Saturday and then he made it to the final 20 players. The final 20 played on Sunday 8/30. He finished in 17th place and took home $24,000 cash. He said the the WPT Boot Camp helped him tremendously.
